Château de Contay provides a mix of eight en-suite bedrooms with private bathrooms, each uniquely decarated, equipped for your comfort and inspired by the history of the place. Château de Contay can host up to 16 guests. One bedroom is located on the ground floor with a step-free access.

Claude de France

Claude is one of the three master rooms of Chateau de Contay. Claude has kept many original features from the construction of the chateau in 1753, including floors and wooden panel and benefits from a French-Empire style fit-out/decor (Napoleon 1er - Retour d'Egypte) from the 19th century. Inspired by Claude de France, Queen of France and wife of Francis the 1st who stopped in the old Chateau of Contay on his way north when he escaped from the Duke of Burgundy.

Catherine de Médicis

Catherine is one of the newly refurbished rooms in the East Wing of Chateau de Contay. Catherine has kept many original features from the construction of the chateau in 1753, including wooden floors and beams showing traditional craftmanship such as Croix de Saint André whilst providing modern comfort. Catherine can be booked together with Honorine as a family room with their private hallway. Inspired by Catherine de Medicis who hired Françoise de Contay as Gouvernante des Enfants de France and who had Francois II and Marie Stuart, Queen of Scotland under her responsability during the Renaissance Period.

Mathilde de Poix

Mathilde is one of the three master rooms of Chateau de Contay. Mathilde has kept many original features from the construction of the chateau, back in 1753, including floors and wooden panel and benefits from a mix of Louis XV and early 20th century fit-out/decor. Inspired by Mathilde de Poix, wife of the first Lord of Contay back in 1167.

Honorine de Viane Morel

Honorine is one of the newly refurbished rooms in the East Wing of Chateau de Contay. Honorine has kept many original features from the construction of the chateau in 1753, including wooden floors and wall panels whilst providing modern comfort. Honorine benefits from an early 20th century decor inspired by travels. Honorine can be booked together with Catherine as a family room with their private hallway. Inspired by Jules Verne's wife, whose family owned the Chateau de Contay during the nineteeth century.

Marie d'Amiens

Marie is one of the newly refurbished rooms in the East Wing of Chateau de Contay and is located on the Ground Floor with a private access fro,m the grounds. Marie has kept many original features from the construction of the chateau in 1753, and its subsequent refurbishments including red tiles and wooden panels. Marie benefits from an end 19th century / early 20th century decor / fit-out inspired by northern Europe influence. Marie also benefits from a private and secluded outdoor space. Inspired by Jules Verne's wife, whose family owned the Chateau de Contay during the nineteeth century. Inspired by Marie d'Amiens, wife of Amiens' Mayor and Lord of Contay who erected the chateau in its current form in 1753 as a wedding present for his daughter.

Olympe du Croquet de Saveuse

Olympe is one of the two rooms in the West Wing of Chateau de Contay. Olympe has kept many original features from the construction of the chateau in 1753, including wooden floors and wall panels and provides a good level of comfort with an old-fashioned style. Olympe has a mix of 18th/19th and 20th century fit-out and decor inspired by the history of the Chateau. Olympe can be booked together with Angele as a family room with their private hallway. Olympe and Angele are benefiting from yearly upgrades to reach same level of comfort of other rooms in the Chateau. Inspired by the wife of the last aristocratic owner and lord of Contay, back in 1907.

Angele Faidherbe

Angele is one of the two rooms in the West Wing of Chateau de Contay. Angele has kept many original features from the construction of the chateau in 1753, including wooden floors and wall panels and provides a good level of comfort with an old-fashioned style. Angele has a mix of 19th and 20th century fit-out and decor inspired by the previous owner's passion for vintage cars. Angele can be booked together with Olympe as a family room with their private hallway. Olympe and Angele are benefiting from yearly upgrades to reach same level of comfort of other rooms in the Chateau. Inspired by General Faidherbe's wife who had lunch at Chateau de Contay back in 1870, before a key battle of the 1870 Franco-German war

Marguerite de Hamal

Marguerite is one of the three master rooms of Chateau de Contay. Marguerite has kept most of the original features from the construction of the chateau, back in 1753, including alcove, wooden floors and panels. Marguerite benefits from a Louis XV and fit-out/decor, contemporary to the construction of the chateau. Inspired by Marguerite du Hamal, wife of a Lord of Contay, ambassador on behalf of Duke of Bungundy to the Vatican. Marguerite is still under refurbishment and is only available for group booking of 6 people and more.
